Why did CPC develop the Everis LQ4S QD?

CPC created the Everis LQ4S quick disconnect coupling to support customers looking for a metal quick disconnect with less galvanic corrosion potential. It is made of stainless steel which as a material has earned a reputation of delivering high performance in aggressive or challenging environments. With the stainless composition and the CPC latch, this product meets most everyone’s requirements for compatibility and serviceability.

What materials are Everis LQ4S quick disconnects made of?

The standard Everis LQ4S quick disconnect fitting is made from 303 stainless steel, EPDM O-rings and PPSU engineered polymer valves and latches.

What termination options are available with the Everis LQ4S?

The Everis LQ4S quick release coupling is available with three hose barb options and two threaded options. For the female side of the connection (body), .” hose barb, .” locking hose barb, and 3/8” locking hose barb are available. On the male side (insert), both G 3/8 and SAE-6 threads are available as standard products.

Is the Everis LQ4S chemically compatible with all liquid cooling thermal management systems?

Fluids and other system components all need to be evaluated independently as well as part of a liquid cooling system; liquid cooling systems need to be designed holistically. Following fluid choice specification, specifying an Everis LQ4S stainless steel connector is an excellent option for developing a system where greater assurance against corrosion is desired.

Why are there three different latch color options on the bodies? Why aren’t the inserts available in blue, red, or black as well?

Blue-latched bodies are available to help users identify cool lines; red-latched bodies are for users to recognize hot lines and black-latched bodies are a third option for design engineers who want to have a choice in configuring/color coding their system. When it comes to the inserts, the efficient and reliable single-piece design of the Everis LQ4S inserts preclude the possibility of including a color band. Threaded inserts are often mounted on manifolds and other ports which can be labeled/color coded separately from the connector, while the body with hose barb is in-line with a hose and providing color options make sense.


How does flow performance compare to the Everis LQ4?

The Everis LQ4S quick disconnect is a 1/4″ flow coupling which leverages the same valve design as Everis LQ4. Accordingly, the new Everis LQ4S QD is equivalent to the LQ4 quick disconnect in terms of connector flow performance. However, it is important to note that flow performance can vary by pairing configurations, so steps should be taken to understand each part’s impact to flow in the system.
